A Striking Success

Paper manufacturer, Arjo Wiggins came through to win a nail-biting victory in the first-ever ‘Chineham Challenge Cup’ bowling tournament for occupiers, organised by MEPC Chineham Park.

After the first and second game, Arjo Wiggins were hot on the heels of Ericsson. Arjo Wiggins determination was such that they never gave up and showed great teamwork, clinching the whole tournament. They bowled their corporate neighbours over by an amazing four points and took the top spot with a score of 790.

The Oscar style golden trophy was presented by Jo Szegota, Asset Manager and Wendy Fletcher, Estate Assistant at MEPC Chineham Park to team players Richard Lloyd, Martin Newell, Mark Scully, Shona Stronach, Suzanne Brown and Claire Saunders who all played outstandingly.

Team captain, Richard said: “Thanks to Chineham Park for organising a great night. The buffet was super, the hospitality was good and the victory finished the night perfectly.”

Geoff Warner who was playing for Hama said: “Well done to Arjo they played an excellent game and our team relished the challenge. They played their best and gave it their all and we look forward to an event such as this being held again.”

Organiser, Wendy said: “It was a fantastic evening and everyone had an enjoyable time. It was good to see local business pulling together for our first ever Challenge Cup, networking and having fun. I would like to say thank you to all the teams Arjo, Ericsson, Alida, Hama, Fitness First and Kone – you were all such good sports.
