Chineham Park has donated £6,000 to the community programme, which will help the club supply coaching to schools and further education establishments in Basingstoke & Deane.
The Rugby Club’s community programme also delivers courses in association with the Wessex Youth Offending Team and the Youth Inclusion and Support Panel. Plans are also being developed to deliver courses to NEETS, young people who are not in education, employment or training schemes.
Rupert Batho, managing director for MEPC Chineham Park, said: “Supporting sport coaching and education efforts in the community is an excellent opportunity for an organisation such as Chineham Park to make a real difference to young people in the local area.”
Steve Tristram, chairman of the Basingstoke Rugby Club, said: “We are delighted that MEPC has agreed to become involved with the club’s community programme once again proving that the involvement of local businesses in the club’s community activities convinces us that sport should play an important part of children’s development.”
